FireWire 800 Interface

The new FireWire 800 (also called IEEE 1394b) further than the performance of its predecessor, FireWire 400 (also called IEEE 1394a). Achieves transmission speeds of up to 800Mbps with appropriate cables and peripherals, which makes it very suitable for applications that require high bandwidth for data transmission, such as video applications, external storage systems, etc.. The FireWire 800 interfaces are compatible with FireWire-based peripherals 400, and vice-versa, using the appropriate cables and adapters.
